VERBIER, Switzerland – March 18, 2025: The YETI Xtreme Verbier by Honda, the highly anticipated FWT Finals, will take place on Thursday, March 20, as organizers aim to secure the best possible conditions for the season’s ultimate showdown. The Bec des Rosses, freeride’s most demanding venue, will once again push the world’s best riders to their limits as they battle for the 2025 FWT Champion titles.
The Bec des Rosses: A True Freeride Challenge
This year’s competition will feature three starts instead of the traditional summit start. Due to a lack of sufficient snow at the top, caused by low precipitation throughout the season and strong northeast winds that stripped the upper face, riders will drop from:
Two starts on the Petit Bec – offering highly technical, steep lines with exposed terrain.
One start half way down the central couloir – leading into the heart of the Bec, where riders must navigate chutes and natural airs.
Despite these adjustments, the Bec des Rosses remains as extreme as ever. With reverse ranking order in each category, the highest-ranked riders will drop last, building tension until the final runs.

Snow Conditions: A High-Stakes Surface
Riders will face 20 cm of cold, light powder on top of hardpack in some areas and sugary snow in others. With mixed snow conditions, athletes will need to read the terrain carefully, balancing aggression and control to put down winning runs.

To minimize the event’s carbon footprint, the FWT is encouraging fans to travel by train, offering a 40% discount on ski passes in partnership with Swiss Olympic’s Climate Fund and myclimate.

More Than Just a Competition: A Full Weekend of Celebrations
The freeride celebrations in Verbier don’t end with the competition. The event village on Rue de Médran will be open from Friday at 12 PM until Sunday at 6 PM, offering a full weekend of activities. Fans can enjoy DJ sets, brand activations, and signing sessions with the riders, while on Saturday and Sunday, the Ski Test Village at Ruinettes will let visitors try out the latest gear.
